The ladies of RPC have embarked on a new outreach project in Aug. 2008.  They became aware of a California-based organization that coordinates the knitting and crocheting (knotting) of hats for those receiving chemotherapy.  The hats are for use while receiving treatments in often very cold rooms, for warmth while sleeping, and for just general use by the patients.  So a number of RPC people jumped in and began making hats and the first shipment of 42 hats was sent in Oct. to Newport Beach, CA.  The hats will then be distributed from there to 100 different sites in the U.S.
Thanks to all those who have contributed so far - we can always use more hat-makers, donations of yarn (please only cotton or baby yarn can be used) or monetary donations for the purchase of more yarn are welcome as well.  The organization also has a website that offers more information as well as a list of where the hats are shipped to in the U.S. - www.knots-of-love.org.
